PostgreSQL 17 Beta 1 has been released. The update offers enhancements to query and operational performance, such as a 20x memory reduction in vacuum, a stream I/O interface, and configurable parameters for transaction, subtransaction, and multixact buffer scalability. It also optimizes queries utilizing planner statistics and the sort order of frequent table expressions (WITH queries), speeds up query execution with the IN clause and a B-tree index, eliminates superfluous IS NOT NULL statements, and supports concurrent index construction for BRIN indexes.

AM 6.8.2 has been released. The speeds of the options -a/about, -l/list, and -f/files have been enhanced. The "version-args" file can be generated when apps are installed, updates are applied, or the file is not present. The -f option uses a function to determine the type of program installed, retaining the existing file unless removed.

pg_dumpbinary v2.17 for PostgreSQL has been released. The release introduces two new options to the command pg_restorebinary: -C, which creates a database before restoring, and --dump-create, which prints the creation and alteration statements.

Darktable Nightly Build 20240518 is available for testing. The nightly build enables users to test new features without having to wait for official releases. It eliminates existing bugs and adds complex code, but stability may suffer. New versions may alter database schemas, thus using a different library. AppImage is compatible with glibc 2.35 or later releases. The *.AppImage.zsync file includes technical data.
A new version of the AM application manager for AppImage is now available. The new version features code cleanliness, revised installation scripts, function separation, new environment variables, bug fixes, and improved GitHub workflows. The majority of uploads come from @zen0bit, who has implemented new Github protocols for syntax correction. For multi-user systems, the next release will transfer working folders to "$HOME/.cache".
