Dial-up in Fedora core 2

Hi, Im a Linux newbie. Recently I installed as a dual boot (on the same HDD as Windows XP) Fedora core 2. Everything went well and both OSs are working fine. However, when I attempt to set up a dial-up internet connection, the wizard does not detect my modem which is in COM3.

Cant log on XP with Samba Domain Controller

So I manage to set my Linux Box as a Samba Domain controller and I was able to join the domain. Now thw problem is that I cant log on XP using the domain name a set up. Upon login in my XP box tells me it could not contact the DC, that the DC was down or that I supplied a wronf usrname/password.

Samba PDC Problem

I've got some problem with Samba and a WinXP Pro client. I configured Samba to by a Domain Controller but when I try to access it from WinXp Pro, I get the following error Quote:Note: This information is intended for a network administrator.

Fedora VS USB ADSL modem

Hi everyone, I have install Fedora core 3 before chistmas and eveything looks good so far; except the internet connection! I have been looking all over the net before christams and now today (4pm!, been at it all day) and except people having similar issues, I can't find any solution out there.

Hi i have just put on mandrake 10. 1 on my pc never used linux before so a little lost i cant seem to get on the internet i have a onboard 10/100 network card and an extunal adsl router, i have gone through all the wisards and put in all the correct ip address etc but nothing happens i cant even access the rounter ...

Fedore Core3 and SMC 2532 wireless

I am running Fedore Core 3 and a SMC 2532 wireless adapter. It is working but the performance seems to varly greatly. The link quality is always very good but I've noticed that the tx-power is all over the place.

Mandrake 10.1 OE network almost right.

Hi I have Mandrake 10. 1 almost set up correctly. I can see all the windows shares and access the internet correctly. One bit I don't have yet is that tightvnc will not connect to the main computer on my house network (e-smith server that controls the windows workgroup e-smith) which is a windows 98se box.

Remote X session problem

I'm trying to connect to my linux box at home using the XLive cd from work. I can ssh in no problem, but I get various errors when attempting to run a gui app. I'm running Xandros 2. 0 at home and I have set xhost appropriately.

hi, i need someones help. ive recently installed Mandrake Linux 10. 1 and im having problems with the internet. linux finds my network and config's it fine well it says there no problems but when i want to browse the web.

About setting up Samba

Hi all, I am having difficulty setting up Samba on my rh 7. 3 and also w/ rh 8. 0 so that I can share it to the 2k system. And I have tried various howtos on the net and still can get it. Could someone please help! Thank you much in advance.

ok. . apologies for that last question. I have a SAMBA Server up and running. I am using RH 8. 0. I did use SWAT to configure all the options. I have added Samba Users with the user names from my W2K Professional box.

Can't connect to the internet with Red Hat 9

Hi, I just installed Red Hat 9 on my computer, and I cannot connect to the internet at all, the only way I'm on right now is i luckily have a SuSE Eval cd. Anyways. . . I go to setup internet connections and it doesn't have my network card/chip which is on my motherboard.

Networking Fedora Core 2 with Mandrake 10

Hello, I'm trying to run a dhcp network with Fedora Core 2 as my server and Mandrake 10 on client computers. I went to the /etc/sysconfig on the server and wrote the dhcpd. conf file. . . I wrote the file correctly but when I went to a client computer and told it to receive its ip address at boot time through dhcp.
