Internet problem

This is a discussion about Internet problem in the Linux Networking category; hi, i need someones help. ive recently installed Mandrake Linux 10. 1 and im having problems with the internet. linux finds my network and config's it fine well it says there no problems but when i want to browse the web.

hi, i need someones help. ive recently installed Mandrake Linux 10.1 and im having problems with the internet. linux finds my network and config's it fine well it says there no problems but when i want to browse the web...i cant it jus wont let me but it will let my browse the website on my server which is on my network. and also access msn messenger aswell...

I'm not really sure, but I'll take a stab at it...
 
Are you using a router? How is your firewall set? Can you reach any websites using just their IP addresses? Does your ISP use DHCP?

It would appear that your ip is being grabbed ok. Now what type of interent do you use? Make sure if you have some type that has to be logged into(DSL) that you have that set up in your router or on your comp. Try ping yahoo.com and if that works, then I'm going to say its your program you are trying to use to browse.
