I keep installing them(flash, mplayer). . . but when i go to watch a mplayer plugin one, it just is like loading mplayer plugin then doesn't do anything. . and it is still not recognizing my flash plug in.

Hello, I've installed Mandrake 9. 2. on a Toshiba Laptop 490XCDT, PII, 64 RAM, 2 GB hd Now, I've also installed OpenOffice (I've just before on Windows98 and am very pleased with it). But my system slows down immensly when using OpenOffice.

[M 9.2.] Toshiba Laptop Screen error : turning screen off/on

I'm not sure this qualifies as general Linux, if not, feel free to tell me so. Mandrake 9. 2/KDE 3. 1 on Toshiba Laptop 490XCDT I have a problem with my screen : when I turn of my screen and then turn it back on, i get a f$cked up screen.

I've been trying (unsuccesfully) to set up a hardware firewall/router/proxy - see this thread Since I am completely new to Linux, I haven't a clue. . . ;( I have the basics of Fedora Core 1 installed but no graphic desktop, so I'm sitting here staring at a flashing cursor and not a foggiest what to do next.

Hi, Im new to linux, very new and im not able to install the drivers so i can enable 3d for my graphics card. When i go to the nvidia ftp site and try to download the drivers that doesnt work, and the one i did find else where has a checksum error.

;( ok i just got done dowsloading Lindows 4. 5122 and i burned the ISO to a CD using Roxio easy ed creater but when i tell the pc to boot from the disk it come up Lindow install and i click that and it loads whatever and then the screen goes blank then after 50 secs the cd pops outta the Drive ;( Can anyone help me.

weird computer problem

hi all guys i am facing a weird and annoying problem in my computer. the problem is that while running, it reboots itself automatically. like i am on net browsing around or even if i am not on net, i am just USING it, playing some game or doing some work, suddenly it reboots itself automatically.

alright, i am in the system recovery place and i went through all the crap. well now i am at the screen where about 3/4 of it is blue the rest black, it says: Your system is mounted under the /mnt/sysimage directory When finished please exit from the shell and your system will reboot.

OK, I had some problems: My bootloader failed, and nothing that I tried to install seems to be able to replace the bad bootloader. I have deleted everything and will soon reinstall Windows on a fresh ten gig hard drive (Maxtor ATA).

I try to install my driver for radeon 9700 and this happens. Problems occured during installation: file/usr/x11r6/lib/libgl. so. 1. 2 frfrom install fglrx-glc22-4. 3. 0-3. 2. 8 conflicts with file package Xfree86-libs-4.

Anyone familiar with it? How do you limit search results to like video/mp3/picture/software/document and such. Since right now when i search for music I get a crap load of other files are with it. Also, is there a way to clear/track on it? Daum.
