Got JVM installed...maybe i have to set a path to it?

I got hte file dannypapper told met o install, (the JVM) it installed successfully, but when i went to run limewire. bin(if you have a diff prog for downloading music pls tell) it did this #. /LimeWireLinux.

JVM--freezin on install

I downloaded j2re-1_4_2_03-linux-i586-rpm. bin unpacked it and went to install every time i do it, it just like freezes, not literealy but afte rpm-i the rpm it just sits ther edoing nothing. . . left it for like 30 min too.

Gentoo Trouble - kernel download - emerge...

I'm tring to install Gentoo. So far I've gotten the latest set of portages, bootstraped, chroot to /mnt/gentoo, updated the environment var. , I got to the point where I install the kernel source. I typed in: Code:emerge usepkg vanilla-sources There are lines before this, but they're the usual environment checks.

alright, i have been searching nonstop for good drivers for the US Robotics 2977 drivers for linux, and i cant find anything, i set up the modem anyway and the driver is just Generic Modem now USR 2977.

Linux boot disk?

Heya, I just upgraded my linux 9. 0 to fedora(redhat). . . i use win me and it kept eating the boot menu so i used a boot disk for 9. 0, and when i went to make boot disk for fedora i guess it messed up and did not create one.

Is there software firewall like Zonelabs, available for Linux or Do I have to manually configure it on Linux. I used the mandrake control center to set up the firewall but all my tests failed on grc.
