JVM--freezin on install
This is a discussion about JVM--freezin on install in the Linux Software category; I downloaded j2re-1_4_2_03-linux-i586-rpm. bin unpacked it and went to install every time i do it, it just like freezes, not literealy but afte rpm-i the rpm it just sits ther edoing nothing. . . left it for like 30 min too.

What distro are you using? RH 9 is bad about that if you try to install with the gui installer.

i use fedora, doing it in the terminal though.

Try using:
j2sdk-1_4_2-nb-3_5_1-bin-linux.bin
instead, and see if the same thing happens. It's an easier install anyway.
