which is the easiest to install? i tried xine but i t seemse to go into an infinite loop. I need a really easy installation or a perfect step by step read me, i some how messed up on the xine.

i saw someone recommended to me LinNeighborhood, I download it, install it( in less than a few min, i'm getting good~) and now i am trying to use it. I can't see my net work, i have a lap top that i can confirm that is on the network(check on diff comp that has windows neighbrhood) how do i get to this compt og et hte files?
