GE-Proton10-25 released
GloriousEggroll has recently released GE-Proton10-25, a custom version of the compatibility tool for Steam Play that utilizes Wine and additional components. This release includes several notable improvements and bug fixes.
Notably, video playback issues have been resolved in Nioh 2, enabling smoother gaming experiences. Furthermore, texture regressions affecting older World of Warcraft clients used by private servers, as well as the Rockster launcher, have been addressed, allowing users to access these platforms without encountering display errors.
The release also fixes a regression that caused video playback issues in certain visual novels, ensuring that players can enjoy these games without interruptions. Additionally, the version number displayed in Proton's scripting interface has been corrected.
GE-Proton10-25 introduces several "protonfix" enhancements aimed at improving the overall gaming experience on Steam Play. Specifically, a correction has been added to resolve issues with the Final Fantasy XIV launcher when using Wayland, enabling seamless access to this popular MMORPG. The update also addresses crashes in Genshin Impact's non-Steam version by resolving an underlying issue.
In another significant improvement, GE-Proton10-25 resolves an error affecting Soulbringer across all versions of the game. This enhancement ensures that players can enjoy this classic title without encountering issues related to compatibility or display rendering.

- VKD3D-Proton, another crucial component for translating DirectX 12 into Vulkan, was also updated to the latest Git version.
