Installing Mandrake 10.0

I've installed Mandrake 10. 0 on my computer and it's asking for the disk labeled Updates for Mandrakelinux 10. 0. Where do I get it? Also this is my first time using any Linux stuff-got tires of trying to install MS stuff and friends told me to try Linux for the server program.

hey guys, i'm running slackware 10 and i'm trying to install evolution 2. 0. 3 and it is complaing, it's asking for a file libegroupwise-1. 0 which is part of the evolution-data-server-devel package.

Alright so I am totally new to Linux. I asked some people for a linux distribution and they gave me fedora core 2 to install all by myself. I did it and decided to install the packages in cd4 at a later time.

Fonts in OpenOffice

Hey all, I was wondering if someone could explain to me (or point me to an article on) fonts in a linux environment. I have fonts working on Xorg 6. 7. 0 but OpenOffice 1. 1. 3 does not see any of them.

Hey I'm trying IRSSI as IRC client. All seems to be fine except for one thing: all new messages comes on the bottom line, without the rest scrollingup (meaning i only see the last message, and the rest of the page is filled up with the very first stuff, ie users list etc).

Recently upgraded to 3. 3. 1 and now when i go to view wmv files(would pull up my mplayer-plugin) it says nsviewerplugin has crashed. . then doesn't show the video. . . this is new. . havn't found really much on how to fix this.

Hello, I was just wondering if there are any web design tools like dreamweaver out there for linux (in. RPM,. BIN, SH format please. Tar is hard :|). I know HTML quite well but I dont know java script,xhtml,dhtml or anything.

converting excel file to text file in unix

I am currently using an unix environment. i need to convert excel file into text file as i don't think pl/sql can read excel file. Is it possible to convert it into. txt format? as my job are mainly for batch processing thus i hope it to be with little or no manual work done.

Blender! and crashing.

Ok so I'm trying to do some 3d work now. I have xfree86 runnign with ati drivers. Now everything works fine. Except when I try to render the objects in a 3d view in blender(pushing letter d). The machine instantly freezes up and i get this.

After spenting almost two months trying to figure out MD Linux 10. 1 to load, in the end still nothing works. I get one error message after another and now it's the partitions, the screen, the video card, the hard drive.

MD 10.1 Installation problem

I finally got MD 10. 1 to load on my computer and when I got to the end it said to take out my CD and reboot. I took out the CD and the Boot disk and rebooted my machine. A black screen came up with.

Best distro to install and use MPlayer 1.0

MPlayer seems to have the best codec support out there. I am currently trying to get it to work with SuSE 9. 1 personal (which I am posting this with). If there is a 3rd party friendly distro with a relatively easy application install routine, PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, WHAT IS IT?!.

I just downloaded limewire for linux, but it has no readme file where i can see how i install it. It's a. bin file, i've just begun using linux, so i tried decompressing with tar -x but it does nothing.
