Best distro to install and use MPlayer 1.0

This is a discussion about Best distro to install and use MPlayer 1.0 in the Linux Software category; MPlayer seems to have the best codec support out there. I am currently trying to get it to work with SuSE 9. 1 personal (which I am posting this with). If there is a 3rd party friendly distro with a relatively easy application install routine, PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, WHAT IS IT?!.
