segmentation fault

i dual boot win xp and red hat 8. 0 i get this segmentation fault when the system boots in linux and shuts down the clock is not synchronised at either way and i get the wrong time my bios clock and windows clock is alright this happened after i had to reboot the system manualy (ie the switch at the front of the box).

Ethernet Compatibility

I have a AMD 2100, Leadtek k7ncr18g-pro motherboad. With nvidia chipset, onboard audio, video, ethernet 10/100. I am running the Linux redhat 9's internet connection wizard. It doesn't recognize my onboard ethernet port.

Epson scanner and RH9

My Epson scanner perfection 640U was working just fine with RH7. 1. Now I have installed RH9 and neither the Gimp nor Sane can fnd the scanner. I have double-checked everything I know to check the /etc/modules.

Upgrading memory in rs/6000 running AIX 4.3.3

My company has an RS/6000 server and is running AIX 4. 3. 3. My boss asked me to upgrade the memory from 128 to 512. I haven't the slightest idea about Unix or booting, re-booting. I use Windows and I know to upgrade the memory on that you just shut down, install and restart and your ok.

Hi, I have a WinFast K7NCR18G or K7NCR18B I am not in front of my computer I am at work at the moment anyways it has a Integrated AC97 soundcard and Integrated Nvidia GeForce 4MX equivalent. For starters it will not pick up my sound card.

ntl Cable Modem doesn't work with Mandrake

My ntl Cable Modem is made by Ambit. Mandrake Recognise it but internet does not come. Knoppix which boot from CD-ROM. Recognise it and i can run the internet from the Knoppix. My cable Modem Attached with USB.

Problem with ASUS P4S533-MX on RHL 9.0

I recently just installed Red Hat Linux 9. 0 on ASUS P4S533-MX mobo. Everything seemed to work fine, but only the on-board soundcard (AD1989) and the on-board ethernet card (SIS962L or SIS651 integrated chipset) that were not recognized by RHL 9.

I'm running slackware 9. 0 and i updated the kernel to 2. 4. 21, and i ensured i enabled the ATA block device for the Silicon image in the kernel config, but on boot the system fails to detect the controller, am i leaving something out?.

RedHat 9 installer does not recognize SATA drive

I can't seem to be able to get RedHat 9 to pick up the SATA drive upon installation. . . are there any boot disks/driver disks that will allow me to install RedHat 9 on this drive?!?! There has been some discussion about other SATA issues but I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.

I hava got a problem. I recently bought Athlon XP 2000 + 256 DDR333 + ASROCK k7s8x. The rest of my hardware I had. And I wanted to install linux mandrake. And when I do it I see when it checks hda for seven ( or eight times ), hdb, hdc, hdd.

My kds monitor is not recognized by RedHat9. 0 during installation. I do not have the manual of the monitor and so I have no information about the monitor. I can not run Xconfigurator in text mode because I do not know the path (also rename) of Xconfigurator under RedHat 9.
