Ati drivers, no mouse detection in Fedora Core 2

Another chapter in my ongoing struggle to install Ati video drivers. . . Last night, I was trying to install Ati drivers for my card by following this guide I got to the part where you are supposed to shut down X console despite the fact I wasn't sure if what I had done worked.

ATI 9800pro Mandrake 10.0 install NOOB HELP

Trying to setup the drivers for my ATI card cant seem to get it to work. any help or direction would be greatly appretiated. i get the following error message when installing the. RPM installation failed: file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.

Scanner recomendations

There are several scanners listed in the compatibility section that are reported to work perfectly with SANE, however many of them also seem to be getting long in the tooth. Does anyone have recommendations for a newer model scanner that works well? I prefer a flatbed, but any will do.

Problems with installing mdk 10.0

I've got the Mandrake Linux 10. 0 3 cd s and tried to install. It went alright till it comes to the package selection screen. I choose the default set of packages and I click ok to start the installation.

Mandrake 10 Installation Problem

I've got an Asrock K7S8E+ mobo and a Maxtor 160GB SATA hard drive, just after I accept the agreement on the installation, I am asked if I have any other devices, I say no and continue, and I am then told that there are no valid devices found to create new filsystems, this could be a hardware problem.

You know the problem. I have Red Hat 9. 0. Since It is an HSF modem, so Linux does not support it. I live in a third-world country(no broadband), so I don't want to pay for a driver. especially 15 USd for JUST a driver from linuxant.

I need some help with my power supply. Here's my computer. I now have 768 MB's of ram and a Nvidia 64Mb Video card. I'm getting me a new video card that requires a 300 watt power supply. I have a hideously weak 200 watt.

Hey folks, I've just purchased SuSE Linux 9. 1 Professional because I heard it came with plenty of WinModem drivers, and also came with a Lucent LT WinModem driver (driver version 9). . . That page only lists Mandrake 8.

Fedora Core 2 - Unable to initiate startx

I'm gonna reference this by saying I am Linux newbie but I've been working in IT for over 10 years and know my way around a machine. I have been tinkering with Fedora Core 2 since work has us going through a class right now for it.

I've been toying with linux on and off for the past few years. I decided I'd finally learn it for my job and for school. I bought a new laptop and decided I would try to put Mandrake 10. 0 on there. Usually I avoid such things and put it on an older (machine which would also make me stop using linux).

problems with ext2 usb reader/writer

When I created a persistent /home directory with the Kanotix live cd on my usb reader/writer stick, it formatted it with ext2 rather than the fat32 it came with. This is great because I much prefer ext2.

Hi, I have a Cmedia 8738 sound hardware and the new Alsa module in kernel recognize it but when I try to play something nothing happens there is no sound. I already try to recompile the kernel without OSS (old sound system) using just alsa but it didn't work at all.
