A novice to linux?

Hi all, I installed Red-hat linux (the complete set of 4 CDs) more out of curiosity than necessesity on my machine. What my inpression was that its too technical, after all who is going to learn and do all that programming (Certainly not I , as a novice non computer-geek.

Radeon drivers in Mandrake 10.0

Hi all. I just installed Mandrake 10. 0 and I really like it so far. Much faster and more stable than any other Mandrake distro I've ever used, and easier to work with than Fedora or RH9. x Anyway, I have a bit of a question, that I'm not sure is fixable right now, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway.

compatibility for mp3 players

I'm using red hat linux 8. 0 and i own a couple of mp3 players. Ive tried to plug in my players but nothing happens. Is there any way for me to enable linux to recognize my players or something like that?.

A number of people have mentioned that they are using USB key drives. These are even being used as bootable devices for some distros or, as storeage for the CD based ones. It is quite easy to inadvertently destroy the volume headers and thus make the volume inaccessible (believe me I know ;-) ).

Problems installing Linux on Sony Vaio Desktop

I have a Sony Vaio Desktop Rs755, 2. 0 P4, 512 MB RAM, 60 GB HD, ATI All-in-Wonder VE Video Card. I tried to install Mandrake 9. 0 three times and I tried installing Redhat 9. 0 twice, however each time the display does not show after going thru the initial boot process.

hey people, today i tried an evaluation cd of SuSE (live based, on-the-fly). while it was loading during the boot splash it supported my standard usb mouse. but then when the desktop began to load, the mouse pointer was left helpless in the middle of the screen.

Is anyone running Fedora on Athlon64 with nForce3? Are there anyone running Fedora on it? Are you able to report good things, or has install been a bother? I'm just curious. I think that's the platform to get into and I'm gonna buy soon, so any info would be helpful.
