Can Some One Please Help with My Sound

Hi everybody I jus now got linux 9. 1 mandrake yesterday i got it all installed and everything but i was trying to set my audio card which is an onboard via 8223 (AC'97) and it says that My sound wont work and i should run artswapper or sumthing and i have no idea how to do that or what that is can somebody please ...

No more lockup with xt983 computer. And go with Linux SuSE 9. 0 it works 100% all you have todo is put a cable from the CD Writer to the motherboard. HP did not install that cable. .

iConcepts USB Digital Camera

I'm running Mandrake 9. 1 (kernel 2. 4. 21-mdk13) and have recently bought a 'toy' digital camera. The packaging calls it an 'iConcepts Web Cam 2 Go Kit' but I think its either an SQ702 USB (this main be an Asian name) or an iConcepts 69052.

hi, My church is redoing it's computer system, and we are getting a linux based server. I am completely new to this, and havent a clue whether or not some of this is relevent. Could somone/someones please tell me which or if all of these hardware components are compatible with Red Hat 9.

Creative SB Live! Series (WDM) Help in SuSe 8.2 Pro

Hello, I am new to the board and to Linux. I just installed SuSe 8. 2 Professional and the automatic configuration did not work for my sound card, Modem and Network Adapter. The OS recognized (listed in YaST) my Soundblaster Live! Soundcard but when I tested it , it did not work.

hi all. I just bought a toshiba e310 pocket pc from a friend for a decent price, but i found its window capabilities to be rather un-impressive. . . anyone know if this thing is linux compatible, and if it is how i can load linux on it? i've googled it and have gotten no results.

it says in the Suse-Compatible-List, that the above mentioned sound card is fully compatible. does that mean, I actually do have surround sound? cause with the SB Live 5. 1 it doesn't work, Suse notes it as being not supported.

Hi, I try to install driver for my radeon 9700 pro and this happens. . . Problems occured during installating: file /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL. so. 1. 2 frfrmo install of fglrx-glc22-4. 3. 0-3. 2. 8 conlicts with file from package Xfree86-libs-4.

Need help picking parts for Linux compatible desktop

I'm currently working on building a new computer, and plan to run Linux exclusively on it, but am having trouble finding a few parts that will run well. My current setup is: Abit IC-7 Max3, Intel 2. 4c, 2x512mb OCZ PC4200, 2x250gb Maxtor SATA150 hdds, ATI Radeon 9800XT, and a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro.

Matrox Parhelia on Linux

I noticed on Matrox's website that they have drivers listed for Rehat versions of Linux. I would prefer to run SuSe or Mandrake. Has anyone sucessfully run a Parhelia in one of the above mentioned Distro's? I have noticed in SuSe that the opening screen is all scrambled with the Parhelia.
