SUSE 10.0 Sound Problems After KDE 3.5 Update

I just wondered if anyone else is having problems with SUSE 10. 0, after performing the KDE 3. 5 updates? I have noticed a few other people with the same issue on other forums. Since up to KDE 3. 5, I get KNotify errors involving sound.

grub reports error 17 in fedora core 4/win98

Hello, I need some help. I installed Fedora Core 4, then Windows98. To make FC bootable, I started linux from CD in rescue mode, and issued the commands: chroot /mnt/sysimage grub-install /dev/sda After that all worked fine.

i have a question on storage devices which includes hard disk drives, flash rives, mmc, etc. . . when i bought a multimedia card (mmc), it says on the label that it is 512MB. but when i inserted it on my phone & tried to see its size it only read 489.

helow I hav a SoftV90 Voice Speakerphone Modem wen i boot to linux. kudzu detected it. then i got on the linux environment and tried to configure the internet using kppp it had an error saying that /dev/modem was not found.

I am currently running Windows XP Pro x86 on: AMD Athlon64 X2 3800 Gigabyte K8N Pro-SLI Gigabyte 7900GT 256 MB 1 GB Corsair TWINX Memory 250 GB Seagate SATA 40 GB Seagate IDE (removable) I have Windows installed on the SATA drive and want to install fedora core 5 on the removable drive.

Ok, heres the deal. I am running a Dell Dimension 4550 with windows XP pro. Im trying to install UBUNTU Linux as a dual boot. Im hoping there is a way to install it without deleting everything on the windows partition.

i hav a problem with xine. it displayd and error: Xine engine failed to start No demuxer found-stream format not recognized. that was wat xine displayed. I tried to play. avi files and it displayed dat error messagea bove.

Need Help Configuring DSL

I have just installed SuSE 10 on my wife's computer and I'm stuck trying to configure DSL. We use sbcglobal through an ethernet card and the 2wire gateway. I've tried configuring DSL using the YaST tool.

hi , i am new to linux. i installed fedora core 4 on my pc already having win xp with grub loader. i installed fedora by freeing space on win partition using QTpart. now when i tried to reinstall win xp booting stops at the point when system configures hardware installed and nothing happens.

ok so here's the spiel-please cant someone assist? Installed Mandrakelinux 10. 1 onto my laptop. was missing cd-4 so i never got around to actually use the gui. i will tho. . . anyways linux has to go for now.

Hi I'm having trouble with synaptic. I have several broken packages, but when I click 'fix broken packages' or try to install/upgrade any package, it insists on removing 292 other packages. I think the problem may have arisen when I tried to get gcc working.
