Gentoo usb support

how good is Gentoos usb support? i am switching from SuSe 8. 2 pro to gentoo and i need to know if gentoo has any problems with usb support. i use a sandisk memory stick reader and a usb connect for a fuji S5000 regularly i also have a sony clie SJ33 with a usb cradle.

Where to save rpm's to??

When downloading rpm's where are you suppose to save them to? I downloaded a rpm and saved it to my /home/hollywood but when I go to terminal and type in the rpm to install it says that there is no file or directory.

I just recently installed SuSe 8. 2 all seems to have went ok except one thing. When my computer boots up the little welcome music hangs up I have no idea where to look to find out why or what I have to do to solve the problem.

plz big problem

when i installed SuSe all was right. icould boot and do stuff. but suenly it get me in something likw dos and asks me for user name and pass. i enter administrator but when it asks pass i cant press any key,so the only option is to press enter.

how do you get 12 hour time on the clock in kde on suse?

I run suse 8. 2 pro and there has been a minor anoyance which is the kde clock, which i can't seem to turn to 12 hour time. anyone know how to do this?.

Hey there, I just wanted a pointer on how to go about the install with yes, Windows already installed. My system right now is setup with Redhat 9. 0 first (9GB), then 1GB swap, Win2k (10GB), and XP (10GB) - no hd space after that.

So far my linux experience has been good. I actually just started using Mandrake 9. 1 on Monday, but ive run into a problem. My geforce 2 mx400 has super choppy graphics in 3d games like tux racer, One of my main reasons for swithcing to linux was to play tux racer, and if i cant.

help ! boot floppy won`t work

tryed to install from hdd, after at least ten wasted cd`s. md5 is correct, speed is ok, read some how-to`s , tried cdrwin5/nero6/winoncd and firebuster. . no luck - dll and check md5 again, burned again, no one of three machines would accept a single cd (mandrake, debian, gentoo, rh, jamd.

i dual boot red hat 8. 0 and win xp. recently when linux boots i get an error message while setting the system clock 'segmentation fault' i get thje same error message when the system shuts down or reboots.
