Nooby needing help - First command prompt
This is a discussion about Nooby needing help - First command prompt in the Everything Linux category; Hello Linux experts, I have purchased a copy of Mandrake 10. 1 so I can have a linux partition and a Windows partition on my machine. I am completly new to Linux and got Mandrake as I was sold it to be idiot friendly and similar to windows.

I have purchased a copy of Mandrake 10.1 so I can have a linux partition and a Windows partition on my machine. I am completly new to Linux and got Mandrake as I was sold it to be idiot friendly and similar to windows.
Installation went very well as well as updates. My first login however was not what I was expecting. I am prompted with a command prompt rather than a graphic interface I was expecting. I can log in with my login name and password but am not sure what command I need to open the windows style graphic interface and login section. I was hoping it was nice and easy but I am strugling to find anywhere on this forum and other websites, the command prompt I need.
Your help would be appreicated in this matter.
