This is a discussion about MSI 925X Neo in the Linux Hardware category; Hi all, I have the above motherboard which has sound on-board (AC97) but Linux flat refuses to see it! I am running FC3 fully updated but I am seeing nothing. I can use my trusty Ensonic card but it will not see the on-board one.

I have the above motherboard which has sound on-board (AC97) but Linux flat refuses to see it! I am running FC3 fully updated but I am seeing nothing. I can use my trusty Ensonic card but it will not see the on-board one. Anyone solved this or got any ideas?

I took a look around and came up empty handed. Apparently this is the Intel Azalia ICH6R chpset onboard. I would expect that drivers have not been fully developed yet for alsa. It is also not listed in the alsa web page sound card matrix.
