ADSL Connection Failure...
This is a discussion about ADSL Connection Failure... in the Linux Hardware category; help! I have a Sagem adsl modem and have installed the required drivers for it on my DELL Latitude laptop. Ran adsl-setup. . . find Ran adsl-start. . . nothing? Ran adsl-status. . . Link is attached to ppp0, but ppp0 is down Ran /sbin/ifup ppp0.

I have a Sagem adsl modem and have installed the required drivers for it on my DELL Latitude laptop.
Ran adsl-setup ... find
Ran adsl-start ... nothing?
Ran adsl-status... Link is attached to ppp0, but ppp0 is down
Ran /sbin/ifup ppp0 ... /sbin/adsl-start: line 217: 10599 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1
what am I doing wrong? what can i do to try get it going?

You don't provide much info here. What distro of Linux?
Can you connect using Windows or other system? I assume this is cabled with ethernet. Are you sure that standard TCP/IP setup with DHCP for getting settings is not correct?
As you say ppp does your ISP use PPPoE?
Sorry, you just have to be a bit more specific about what requirements are and what you are using.
