FTP to SuSE 9.0 LiveEval (Booted)

I am working a subnet where I am trying to FTP to a SuSE 9. 0 LiveEval (bootable linux). I am begining to think I should just as well go out an pick four leaf clovers! Here is what I have done thus far.

No sound on Mandrake 10

I had Mandrake 9. 2 on my PC and the sound was fine, when I upgraded to Mandrake 10. 0 I lost all sound and when I boot it complains that it can't find a sound card. No sound since upgrade to Fedora Core 2 Kernal 2.6.8-1.521

I'm running Fedora Core 2 Kernal 2. 6. 8-1. 521 on a Toshiba Satellite A65-12S Laptop. My problem began when I upgraded the kernel to the current version. I lost my sound, it was working in Kernel 2.

Problem with MRTG indexmaker on Fedora Core 1

Windows networking doesn't see my linux box.

Well, I successfully merged my work computer over to linux. I'm running the latest release from YOPER. I am able to connect to the windows network in my workplace and browse shares. THe only problem is that the windows boxes cannot see me on the network.

Fstab helped needed with usb devices

Upon booot it detects new devices although they are already in fstab, I have a 20gig drive in a usb enclosure, and it takes quite a bit of time then it says there is an error in the partition table, so redid the partitions still same problem, however I have had it working in X.

Installing extra hd - how to do it smart?

I use Suse 9. 0 installed on a hd in one partition (total of 1 gb or something like it). I started to run out of place specially on /usr. So I bought a new hd of 80 gb. That one I divided into 4 partitions with about 20 gb each.

I got a Pavilion ze5500 and every Mandrake's version freeze a few seconds after I hit enter. I think that I will use Mepis for a couple of months more. .

FC2 kernel compilation
