FATAL ERROR IN MANDRAKE 10.0 SETUP

OK so i have decided to make the big swith from xindows to linux. The distro i chose was Mandrake. So anywayys i tried to install it and i got to the install part and i clicked enter so then it starts loading memory the progress bar goes like 25% then the progress bar disapears and i get text saying error in exec.

I have a fried motherboard on a Dimension 8100. I do not even know where to start to find the correct board for it and it seems that Dell makes it especially difficult to replace. I called for a Dell price and they wanted $299 for one that will work, but not the same kind as is in there now.

I have just tried to install SuSE 9. 1 pro however my fourth disk didn't work. Hoping nothing vital was stored on that disk I pressed on and hoped that YaST would dl and install any packages I had missed.

I'm running Fedora Core 1 got the latest and greatest loaded, but I can't get the permissions to allow a user to read and execute on the dvd itself, root is allowed, but user isn't and no matter what I do I can't get the user the permissions he needs.

Problem installing mandrake 10.0

hello, well, i have downloaded the 3 iso from the net and burnt them on CD. then i have checked it on my window XP to see if the iso actully been burn. Which they have because when i have placed CD 1 and a welcome screened appear so i assume all the ISO have been burn perfectly.

NTFS and linux Just commenting here. I've read posts that indicate others have had the same problem I've had reading NTFS files with linux. I COPY the files I want to w*n 98 where linux can easily read and Copy them.

Yeah I saw it when it came out, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of more AvP as the human's seemed to be more of a mucking about or a monkey wrench into the works kind of thing. It did however clear up a lot of things about the two species in general that is and yes they left the barn door wide open for a sequel.

How do I uninstall mandrake 10.0 without deleteing the partion?

I need to know how or is there a way that I can uninstall mandrake 10. 0 without deleteing the partion so I can install suse linux where mandrake used to be? Or would it be ok if I were to just manually delete all the mandrake files and folders and then just install suse there? Can anyone please help?.

heatsink/fan compatibility

Alright, I'm thinking about buying that heatsink and using my Vantec Tornado as the fan. Will they be compatible? The other version comes with a 80 mm sq. x 25. 4 mm fan. Here's a link to it: I'm just concerned that my Vantec Tornado won't fit with the heatsink.
