how to install "linux installers"

How do i install linux installers? I thought they looked like shell scripts so i used the sh command but it doesn't work. Anybody help me?.

I recently installed Fedora Core 2 on a Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop. I have a Linksys Instant Wireless Network PC Card (model WPC11) but am not sure what packages I need to install to enable it. I've seen a few different threads that have several different methods.

how can i execute binaries even if i am not within the folder that contained the binary? just like my java, ican only execute java under the folder j2sdk. .

Install Kodak Easyshare LS443 Camera Mandrake 9.1

According to USBVIEW this camera is on USB port and shows as KODAK Easyshare LS443 Zoom Digital Camera. GTKAM shows the LSS443 in their list but it will not acknowledge it's presence reports :no Cameras detected.

Help. . i have finally came to terms with RH9 2. 4 kernel not supporting Sata Drives, and have read that FC2 does because of the 2. 6 kernel. the only thing that's stuffed right now is that i can't find an appropriate driver disk for the SATA disk.
