Two Hard Drive Dual Boot with XP and RedHat Linux 9

I have two hard drives in my computer. The 40GB Western Digital has Windows XP on it and it is currently set to be the Slave. The 20GB Western Digital has RedHat Linux installed on it with GRUB on the Master Boot Record (MBR) and that hard drive has the jumper set as the Master.

New main page compatibility results.

Recently, I noticed that the new compatibility results on the main page no longer list whether the program was reported as working or not. The only way to tell is to open the details for each item. I used to give this section a quick glance, but no longer can.

What happened? It was only a couple of stupid pop-up ads before (anybody remember the IT training and stoplight/racecar bit?) but now it is virtually every page. Are they really paying enough to hassle everybody? I would love to be able to block pop-ups, but on my typical work box I can't throw on Firebird or anyth ...

Hi, i'm a newbie with linux. I tried to install mandrake 9. 2 with burned cd but it says somthing like Second stage memory install failed or something like that. Looking on the internet I foud out that by installing by the hard drive could solve this promblem.

Hello. I have been trying to play a movie, and after a few minutes I get the message Your system is too slow to play this. This would be fine, if I didn't have a 1 ghz! But if I use the -nosound it works fine.

Compaq 2500/Mandrake 9.2/X Problem - Minor

I have a Compaq 2500R that I successfully installed Mandrake 9. 2 on and everything works fine except when I attempt to start X. I'm using the onboard VGA interface which uses a Cirrus chipset. My config is as follows: Compaq 2500R, 1GB RAM, 5-4.

OK I admit it. I am totally new to Linux but I like what I see thus far. Problem, what do I need to get my DVD player to work. I think I have everything set up correctly but I get the following error in the Kaffeine Media Player window Xine error:Unknow error.

Mandrake 9.2 hangs

When I boot up mandrake it hangs when checking for new hardware. I have not been able to boot for the first time. On the first boot it stopped while trying to boot. Any ideas on what I should do. .

Hi guys! I have a problem: Mandrake 9. 2 can't recognize my video card. I tried all the different provided during the installation, but the situation remains still: when I boot my Linux, the server X doesn't start and I'm left to the shell.

I've uninstalled Mozilla 1. 4 came with the distro, and installed 1. 5. Now the fonts just look horrible, especially the one on the menu. Any way to fix this issue?.

Hmm, if I make a texture myself, what is that called then? I mean, if I shoot a picture with my digiacam, and make a texture from it, then it can be called a photorealistic texture, but what should the one I make with a brush in photoshop be called? Artificial?

Ok, I know we can get pirated MS software cheaply, (I am a lao wai, by the way), but China has it's very own Red Flag Linux, but I can't even find it!
