I am a new linux user and my first time using it was with a SuSe Live Eval CD, and that was great. Other than a few video/monitor issues I straightened it out and it worked beautifully. . . but a SuSe iso is unavailable, so I thought I'd try out Mandrake.

mp3 to wav application

Does anybody know of a cd burning or other aplication that can convert mp3 to wav so that they can be burned to a disk, and listened to on any cd player. kinda like what easy cd creator can do. I have found a script but it can only do one file at a time which is a bit of a drag.

My Epson scanner perfection 640U was working just fine with RH7. 1. Now I have installed RH9 and neither the Gimp nor Sane can fnd the scanner. I have double-checked everything I know to check the /etc/modules.

hi apologies for the quality of the question currently putting together a linux network (rh8) on old p1mmx 66Mb machines i am trying to use nfs to make shared folders available to rest of netwk. we have managed to create shared folder and mount it.

When i boot mandrake 9. 1 it kinda hang for a minute on; bringing up interface eth0(zero) then it kinda detect my ip card 3-4 times before giving the value 9 to my card and continue booting. . . do anyone have any ideas about that??? Thanks!.

Upgrading memory in rs/6000 running AIX 4.3.3

My company has an RS/6000 server and is running AIX 4. 3. 3. My boss asked me to upgrade the memory from 128 to 512. I haven't the slightest idea about Unix or booting, re-booting. I use Windows and I know to upgrade the memory on that you just shut down, install and restart and your ok.
