the other day i was trying come to this site and i typed linuxcompatible. com intead of linuxcompatible. org. when i made this mistake i was presented with a dialog box that asked for a user name and pass word.

Hi, Im running redhat 8 on a compaq Presario 711CL. under the standard install, the modem is not detected. I installed the proper driver. . but now, kppp doesnt work. Is there another graphic s/w to use the modem? minicom is rather intimi.

mapping the scroll button

Hi, I have a compaq Presario 711 CL. . and there is this big scroll button below the touch pad, which worked in windows. . and doesnt work now. . . . i'm running Redhat 8. Any tips as to how i could make it scroll pages again? Thanks, Uday.

ide controller cards

I am having much trouble with my ide controller card. It is a promise card mandrake 9. 1 does not like my card at all. is there anyplace i can find some inforation on ide controler cards with linux. i have checked the promise website and found nothing I have tried the mandrake site and also found nothing.

hi, i got an mandrake 9. 0 and the sound card hercules fortissimo 2. The modules ALSA is installed (integrated with mdk 9. 0) but the digital output doesn't work. . . . Somebody could help me about this ??? thanks.

Problem with Mandrake on Compaq Presario 2144

My notebook runs with Windows XP, but I want to install Mandrake too. There is no problem during the installation, but after the computer is rebooting, I can choose between Mandrake and Win XP, but no OS is functionning.

lo, i have a problem with unreal tournament playing online: my maximum framerate is 100, but i can get 100 only if playin at netspeed 20000. though i use a isdn (fritz card pci) connection, netspeed 20000 is way to high under linux, coz with only little traffic my frames drop like hell.

Hi, I am very new to Linux, and I have just downloaded RedHat 9. 0 and updated it. When I updated it I also updated the kernel from an old version to a newer version. The problem is that the new version doesn't work properly.
