linmodem

This is a discussion about linmodem in the Everything Linux category; Hi, Im running redhat 8 on a compaq Presario 711CL. under the standard install, the modem is not detected. I installed the proper driver. . but now, kppp doesnt work. Is there another graphic s/w to use the modem? minicom is rather intimi.
