CD-rom problems with mandrake 9.0

Hi everyone. I'm a linux newbie and just installed mandrake 9. 0. I am using a BCD F520D CD-ROM. Mandrake 9. 0 installed fine from the CD-rom. If Operating Systems were beer DOS Beer: Requires you to use your own can opener, and requires you to read the directions carefully before opening the can. Originally only came in an 8-oz. can, but now comes in a 16-oz.

NEC Versa P440 Notebook

Hi, i have some small questions. Does any ´one run Linux on a NEC Versa P440 ? which distribution do you run on it ? Some notebooks, although the Versa P440, have special keys. It is possible to use it ? thnx / regards malcom.

Well it's Monday here downunder and a very nice one indeed, but last night was cold. Went to Church Sunday AM with our minister who's 2 cans short of a six-pack. Best part is we have heaps of public holidays around this time.

Concept Cars? Ever heard this term...??

That charger is pretty sweet - I would like to see it for real. It's weird, but I always have to wait on my judgement of a car until I see it myself. Some cars that looked beautiful in photos I ended up hating, and others that were so-so become awesome when viewed in person.

k i've put linux on an old p100 for use as a cheap webserver. Anyways, i put mandrake 9 on and when it boots it goes to load lilo(bootloader) and it just displays a crap load of the number 40. then crashes the computer.

Hi, I'd like to build my own computer, one for a dual boot system using both Linux and Windows. Could anyone give me a list of hardware components that are compatible and have all the right drivers available,etc? Now I don't want to spend a fortune as my computing needs are modest.

Micro$oft does have a special relationship with them since they worked together on things like the X-Box, and since people are puting Linux on the X-Box does it not make sense that nVidia would quit supporting Linux? sound server error

hello, i just installed redhat 9, luckily my soundcard is now supported by its kernel. i have a fm801 4 channel soundcard. . here is the problem. . . . everytime i log in, an error window pops, it says: sound server fatal error: cpu overload, aborting what does this error mean? pls help.

Ok guys, I've tried this every way from Sunday with Red Hat 7. 3. I've pointed the Netscape plug-in path to the various 4. 0, 6. 0 and 6. 2 java plug-ins and I've copied the plug-ins to the Netscape plug-in folder after installing the RPM from Sun v.

Installing MDK 9.1

I'm currently downloading the new version of MDK. I have also been doing some checking on installation problems and I've noticed that I should not do the upgrade option. How do I remove my current version of MDK 9.
