Swapping music files

Is there away to swap music files between XP and Mandrake 9 without saving them to a disc and doing a reboot. Also is there a video player available besides X-ine which I can't seem to get wmv type files to play.

Multiple Desktops in NT

I've always tried to get myself to use multiple deskops in NT without the pain and frustration of hitting keys and trying to force myself to use it. Well I found this program a couple of days ago: VirtuaWin It displays an icon in your System Tray that tells you which Virtual Desktop that you are currently using.

Bootable CD1 Of Beta 3?

Anyone else had trouble with the bootable CD? I have downloaded beta 3, cd 1 twice from 2 different sources, and the CD does not match what it says in the readme and is not bootable. Neither is 2 or 3.

I have a small problem. It appears a Redhat linux 7. 2 machine was hacked and when i shut it down and rebooted, well it didn't. it stops looking for directories that are not there and then stops at lo.

Why XFT eats so many mem?

I wrote a small test program using XFT rendering fonts. 'ps -aux' shows it used ~18M mem, why so terrible? thanks very much!.

Why can't I use X with 32MB of Ram?!?!?!

system specs: celeron 333a 32mb sdram i810e integrated graphics & sound. Distro = Mandrake 9. 0 when i tried startx at the console, I get an EE error claiming that only 6MB is available for AGP and it's not enough to start X in any available video mode.

I finally tried init=/bin/sh to execute yast and stop from loading at the boot the services which halts my system but i cant do that cause there's no root nor user account being created so far So what i get is a : yast2.

how can i get suse 8. 1 working with my brand new club 3d ati radeon 9500 pro 128mb ? im trying for days no and im so disappointed and mad, maybe you can help me ? what should i do to fix it, i have a ati driver for linux but i cant get in the grafical /graphic modus, so installing is quite hard Please help !.

problem with printing

i have lexmark z33 and hp deskjet 690c installed on my system (mdk 9). i am using cups. sometimes none of the printers answers (in /var/log/cups/error_log there is a note that the job is in queue - in fact i cannot find any job.
