linux installation

This is a discussion about linux installation in the Linux Hardware category; hi people i have a compaq presario 900z and wanna install linux 8. 0 on it but 'm not sucesfull. PLease let me know how to install linux on my laptop urgently required thanks.

Place here your problem , i've already saw the sites you've mentioned
 
I can help you with ati radeon 7500 mobility , dvd frame loss during
 
playback and installation hang ups due to usb/autodetection devs
 
What are you trying to install and what's your problem ?

Hehe, GhostSong, go back and look at who posted what.
 
kapoorrohit, those links I posted will help you set up Linux on your laptop. But be forewarned, you have the same problem as I. The Radeon chip in the 900 series is completely unsupported. It will, however, work with the generic VESA driver for XFree86. Good luck!
