An IDE DVD-RAM drive. Appears as a regular /dev/hdx device that can be mounted RW and written to like a regular disk, or read from like a CDROM. Can also rip audio CDs.
Doesn't require SCSI emulation (as CD writers often do).
I have had some apparently spurious warnings from the kernel (particularly when a DVD-RAM cartridge is write-protected) but no data loss at all since I bought it in Aprill.
