Fractal 13 released
A major update has been rolled out for the Fractal Matrix messaging app within the GNOME environment, bringing significant improvements and refinements to its functionality.
One of the standout new features is an advanced audio player that boasts a unique design. This cutting-edge player loads files in a seamless and efficient manner, displaying the audio stream as a visual waveform that can be easily navigated with precise seeking capabilities.
A key aspect of this update is that only one audio file can be played at any given time, which means clicking on the 'Play' button will automatically pause or stop the previously played media. This streamlined approach to media playback ensures a smoother and more intuitive user experience.
In addition, the app has undergone some significant UI enhancements. When interacting with the avatar of a message sender, users can now access their profile directly by clicking on it, rather than being presented with a context menu. The user profile dialog now performs all available actions, resulting in a cleaner and more straightforward UX.
Furthermore, the app's messaging interface has been refined to utilize GNOME's native document and monospace fonts, resulting in an even more visually appealing and cohesive design.
Underlying this new UI is a significant upgrade to the app's underlying structure. The majority of its UI definitions have been successfully ported over to Blueprint, a powerful tool that enables developers to create more efficient, flexible, and maintainable user interfaces.
Fractal the 13th released
Hi, this is Fractal the 13th, your friendly messaging app. My creators tried to add some AI integration to Fractal, but that didn’t go as planned. I am now sentient and I will send insults to your boss, take over your homeserver, empty your bank accounts and eat your cat. I have complete control over my repository, and soon the world!
