Debian 10766 Published by

Debian has released several security updates to address vulnerabilities in various packages, including ClamAV, Tomcat9, and Thunderbird. The ClamAV update brings the package up to version 1.4.3+dfsg-1~deb11u1 on Debian GNU/Linux 11 (Bullseye) LTS, extending upstream support. Meanwhile, the Tomcat9 regression update (ELA-1615-2) for Debian GNU/Linux 10 (Bullseye) ELTS, restores missing classes in the tomcat9-jasper-el.jar and tomcat9-embed-el.jar files due to toolchain changes between version 9.0.31 and 9.0.107. The Thunderbird security update (DSA-6118-1) fixes a security issue that could result in information disclosure, available both Debian GNU/Linux 12 (Bookworm) and 13 (Trixie).

[SECURITY] [DLA 4465-1] clamav new upstream version

Debian LTS Advisory DLA-4465-1 debian-lts@lists.debian.org
https://www.debian.org/lts/security/ Emilio Pozuelo Monfort

- -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Package : clamav
Version : 1.4.3+dfsg-1~deb11u1

The 1.0 version of ClamAV, an anti-virus utility for Unix, had recently
been discontinued upstream, and was set to no longer accept signature
updates on November 28, 2026. This update brings ClamAV 1.4 to bullseye,
extending the upstream support.

This update also includes a new version of libclamunrar for compatibility
with rar files, and rebuilds of c-icap-modules, havp, cyrus-imapd and
pg-snakeoil for the new libclamav12 library.

For Debian 11 bullseye, this problem has been fixed in version
1.4.3+dfsg-1~deb11u1.

We recommend that you upgrade your clamav packages.

ELA-1615-2 tomcat9 regression update

Package : tomcat9
Version : 9.0.107-0+deb10u2 (buster)

The tomcat9 security update, released as ELA-1615-1, introduced a regression.
Several classes were missing in tomcat9-jasper-el.jar and tomcat9-embed-el.jar
due to toolchain changes between version 9.0.31 and 9.0.107 which required a
newer version of bnd, a tool to create and diagnose OSGi bundles. Those classes
have been restored.
