The seamonkey suite is meant to replace the mozilla suite, however an updated galeon is not available so it will not update correctly. This appears to be an upstream issue but everyone is quiet on the issue.

For now I recommend that you uninstall galeon before using yum upgrade.

is to run*:
# rpm --erase galeon
# yum upgrade

* NOTE: this is not the normal procedure.

The up2date released with CentOS-4.4 did not specifically require the new centos-release, however the new centos-release provides the /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources file for up2date.

This update changes up2date to require centos-release >= 4-4.2 which will allow up2date to be used to upgrade of CentOS from 4.3 (or older versions) to 4.4.

The following updated files have been uploaded and are currently syncing to the mirrors:

CentOS 4.4 has been released for i386 and x86_64:

The CentOS development team is pleased to announce the release of CentOS 4.4 for i386 and x86_64.

It is available on all CentOS.org mirrors and via bittorrent.

This release corresponds to the upstream vendor U4 release together with updates through August 26th, 2006.

The LiveCD version (1 cdrom) is available for i386.

The work for the i386 and x86_64 ServerCDs and all other arches is in progress.

If you are currently using another version CentOS-4, using this command will upgrade you to CentOS-4.4:

yum update
