RHN erased ability to use up2date

Hello, I recently went to the RHN. org and updated what I thought would be an improvement to my Fedora2. After I did this, my ability to use the up2date (Alert Icon) has since come to a standstill.

Ghost for Linux

I just tried a neat application called Ghost for Linux on one of my test boxes. Essentially, I had a 20 gig hard drive and wanted to install a 40 gig which I took out of my wife's box (yes, I got her a larger hard drive).

I've tried using the GIMP, though its limited in its abilities and difficult to use. In Windows I've always used Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, which wont run under wine or CrossOverOffice (why the heck it needs IE installed for graphics software is beyond me!) hi guys! I'v red hat 9 and now that I succeeded in sharing a 16Gb partition with my mp3s I cannot listen to them as linux says that, due to something I don't remember the support for mp3s has been removed by red hat.

DVD sound but no video with xine

hi, I have xine installed and I am able to play divxs mpgs and wmvs fine and I can play mp3s on xmms but when I put a legal dvd in my drive it plays only the sound and I am able to click on the areas where menu items are but the video screen is just black.

I found a nice RPM for it and it works, however it starts it lame default theme, so I have downloaded another theme -> Borealis, and I would like it to load that theme on start up, instead of the default theme.

Xfishtank, I dont see any fish, what am I doing wrong?

Mandrake came wiht xfishtank and I have found the executionable file, so I double clicked on it, and the screen flickers for a moment, but I dont see any fish. Is something supposed to be set up special for this to work? KDE 3.

Permissions and DVD drives

I'm running Fedora Core 1 got the latest and greatest loaded, but I can't get the permissions to allow a user to read and execute on the dvd itself, root is allowed, but user isn't and no matter what I do I can't get the user the permissions he needs.

best audio/video player for linux

what are people's favorite audio and video players? unless there is some super cool media player that I don't know about, my question is for two different programs. on windows I use winamp and windos media player when it fails at the codec for video.
