Ok, so after reading alot on this board I finally gave Mandrake a try again. I have had a good time with it before, but I have never been able to use the official Nvidia drivers, but this time I got very far - only to fail again :-( I have done everything in the readme file and everything I have read on this board ...

Audigy LS not working with Fedora core 4 :(

I just installed Fedora Core 4 with np and when i loged in i could not get any audio so i checked the Hardware list and my card was list i also made sure that it was not muted. I also was an intergrated card that did not show up but i dont care about that because it sucked anyway.

Problem in playing midi

dual monitor support in Madriva 10.1

i'm trying to get dual monitor support working in Mandriva 10. 1 and having no luck. i have a dual head Matrox Millenium G550 AGP video card. when i install the OS i get 3 choices: configure heads independantly, start with Xinerama extensions and configure only Matrox G550.

well ive installed slackware like a million times activated the pcmcia option so etho is up but the problem is when im trying to install the madwifi driver i get of cvs. well actually it installs fine from what i can tell because if i use iwconfig ath0 is now visible however i cant connect to any wireless ap.

Mandrake 10.0 Graphics problem on install

Can anyone help me here. Trying to install the above, but havn't a clue as to what I need to choose when it comes to the graphics. The graphics that is onboard the mobo is the VIA KM400 on a Gigabyte RZ 7VM400M board.

installing Fedora Core 3 on external USB harddrive

Is this possible? How? Some details * laptop running XP home, BIOS does allow booting from USB device. * linux is not installed on the internal harddrive * when trying to install FC3 using boot CD the USB hard drive is not recognized.

Music CD

Problem: Although I have several programs for playing music or audio CDs, they don't work. My sound card works fine. But when I try to look at the files in a music CD using Konqueror, it looks like an empty CD drive.

TV tuner cards with GNU/Linux

I intend to get a TV tuner card with recording capability since my VCR spoilt last week and a DVD recorder is beyond my budget. But I have no experience at all in this area. I was planning to get the LEADTEK TV2000XP since its cheap and pretty full-featured but have no idea if its compatible with GNU/Linux.

need help on notebook compatibility with GNu/Linux

system restart automatically ?

2 Questions : 1. I wonder why the system would restart automatically after shutting down. Is it normal behaviour ? 2. How can I turn the screen off when I am not using the laptop or hibernate the system.

How to change sound driver in CentOS?

I'm new to linux. . . so this may be obvious. . . but I have the Dell Version of SoundBlaster Live 5. 1 and it uses a differant driver then the regular version and CentOS only has a automatic soundcard checker, and it uses the regular driver.
