Problems Installing Fedora 3

I'm new to linux and am having problems installing fedora 3. I've wiped my HD and booted from the iso cd I downloaded from the web. It go's through the install ok and let it auto partition the drive (but takes about 1 1/2 hours but it is a slow pc (celeron 466)).

I just gon Mandrake 10. 1 and this is my first time using linux. How do i log in as ROOT? i cant install anything becuse i need to be loged in as ROOT and if you have AIM please post your S/N thanks in advance.

Hi i am wanting to install network card driver i have the linux driver and a txt file that tell me what to do but ive got stuck i followed steps un-tar'ing files etc but then askes to 'compile' to make a file call rhinefit.

Problem with Mandrake 10.1 install and SATA drive

I'm trying to install Madrake 10. 1 CE on my Dell XPS Gen 3 system in a dual boot configuration (currently have XP Pro running). When the install probes for hardware it recognizes the SATA controller - 'Found Intel Corp.

Just a question. . . Which is better? My config is three hard drives: IBM IDE 120GB with nothing on it and no format WD SATA 250GB with WinXP on 150GB partition with an unformatted 100GB partition WD SATA 74GB with SuSE 9.

Hi again. I finally have a WinXP and SuSE 9. 1 Pro dual boot system. SuSE installed just fine on my SATA drive (though it didn't want to go on the Raptor on the same controller). Anyway, now that I have SuSE installed my Netgear WG311 doesn't want to connect.

segmentation fault problem

Everytime i try to start KDE, it always fails and when i check the logs, i see this msg segmentation fault several times throughout the entire boot-log. How can i solve this so i can access KDE again?.

Mandrake 10.1 Istall problems

Hello, I am still with the same disc but i think i am getting further. It starts to install but never does. Here is the kernal log: I/O error on device hdc, logical block 313638. Is there a way i can get the missing file that it needs.

Hi all, I've got a little problem, I'm new to the wonderful world of linux, I'm running Suse 9. 1 Pro, my PC specs is P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard with onboard Wifi slot, I got the Asus Wifi-b card with antenna, with XP it work fine but I cant get Linux to even get a signal to my Access Point.

I just fired an individual at my radio station for using Firefox to view obscene, (and possibly illegal), picture files off the Internet. I can't believe someone could be so stupid as to think they could get away with this.
