Hi I'm traing to install Fedora Core 2 in addition to Windows XP OS. I have partitioned my WD 80GB hard in 5 partition with 1 first partition for WinXP and the second partition in another 4 segment (1 for WinXP and 3 for Linux (/, swap, /home)).

I'm trying to unlock my files using chmod. But I can't remember where to put the R to unlock all files at once. Like chmod 777 /home R Its been a while since I've been on my Linux box so go easy. Thanks Hollywood.

Just for fun, I downloaded the ISO for Red Hat 6. 2 to see what Linux and Red Hat was like way before I started running it. It is extremely primitive to install by today's standards, although I never could get past the partitioning.

I've just started out with Linux (Fedora Core 2) and have been experimenting with compiling from SRPMs. I noticed on compiling xmms that the resulting executable file is much bigger than that installed by the rpm itself.

hello everybody! so just though about poping in to work out some problems with my linukx problems. Im ruuning mandrake 9. 2 (fully updated) on my comp and some graphics render on the screen slow. Normal on the screen graphics like the gui, video and pictures render normal time.

I have untar the file and configure it and made the makefile when it is copying it keeps of say that i do not have enogh perssion. I am only loading it on my own person computer. what am i doing wrong plz help.

I'm trying to install Rekall. I got thrugh to the configure and after a number of trys seem to have most of the files necessary. One last depends seems to have me stumped. Last line is checking for X.

Is there a driver for the Logitech MX510 optical mouse? If so where could I get them and how the heck do you install them. I'm new to Linux but I'm convinced that Windows is EVIL!! So I'm willing to try out Linux and hopefully switch soon.

Hi All, i am having a problem up IBM ServerRAID cards. i have the SUSE. img that i downloaded from ibm. com. the problem is i can't extract or make a bootable disk of thaat. img file i tried the dd command, but i dont think i am using it right.

Hi i need help with installing mandrake 10 on the same system as windows xp as im a new user to Linux i need help with any info that you have on partioning the hdd. The size of the hdd is 74. 4GB. The Format of disk is NTFS if that helps any way.

Is linux compatible with DVI output?

I installed mandrake 10 into my comp, but after it loads up all the hardware, the screen just turns black and i cant do anything. i have an lcd hooked up to my comp through the dvi output. is there something i have to do so that i can view it through dvi, or do i have to use an analog cable? thanks in advance.

Just wondering what's going on with that. . . is Lindows like a front end/desktop for Linux, or is it like a completely different distribution? It looks like it's a distribution all on it's own, but I haven't heard anyone talk about it, or see it mentioned on sites discussing the different distros.
