Mandrake Install

Hi, I am new to Linux and tried to install mandrake 10. The problem is that the installation keeps freezing at various stage of installation. That ranges from formatting to entering root login(which is the farthest I got) Initially I was trying 10CE, and last night figured i'll try to do a network install.

I've been trying out Mandrake lately and found it to be easier than I thought/hoped and would very much like to make the complete move to linux. Thanks to a lot of linux sites (including this one) I have almost found a linux application that replaces the one I use on Windows XP - but I am missing a few.

Which wireless card is good for Fedora Core 1?

Hi, All, I have a Syntax USB-400 wireless card, it does not work for Frdora core 1. Can somebody help me with this? Thanks a lot. Another thing, can somebody tell me which wireless card works for Fedora core 1, then I can go to CompUSA or bestBuy to buy one? Thanks, Ming.

Hi, I am very new to linux, so I know extremely little. I just installed linux for the first time, and chose fedora core 1. It all went well, but I dont know how to setup an internet connnection. I am on a LAN, so I think it should be fairly simple, Id appreciate any help.

this is my first experience on Linux so i hope you guys can help me out on this. anyway, i just got the Mandrake Linux 10. 0 Official CD (4 of them altogether), and i'm able to read the CDs fine (in Windows mode that is).

Ok I am really confused, I boot to the cd and want to do a ftp install, which choice do I choose and then when i have made that choice, before I hit enter I type in the ftp dir? -Bill

first i want to know if linux handles dual monitor support i got a nvidia 5200 plus 128mb card that allows for it but i cant figure it out 2ndly got to get my cd player to work i tried changing the mnt points etc.

Debian Sarge - apt-get DVD/CD issue

I just tried the latest DVD snapshot of Debian Sarge (testing), but apt-get didn't recognizes the Debian DVD/CD during 'apt-get install'. Adding Debian DVD/CDs using apt-setup works without problems.

Hi. This server got dumped on me and I'm a bit new to this. I'm running Redhat 7. 3 and was trying to figure out which modules that are loaded in modules. conf corresponds to the actual hardware found in the results from lspci.

I'm currently using winodws xp home and red hat 8. 0. When i started using it was fine but later on, windows started getting all kinds of problems and in the end said my config. ini file was corrupted and asked me to repair my installation.
