wanting to rip my cds
This is a discussion about wanting to rip my cds in the Linux Software category; hi am i able to turn my music cds into files (mp3 or what ever linux uses) i tryed using sound juicer the program that comes with redhat fedora core but when i put my megadeth cd it it say it cant mount and in sound juicer it just wont find anything on the cd.

and in sound juicer it just wont find anything on the cd. ive had a look at the setting and it is looking at my cd-dvd drive it say the model number and every thing ????

Did you try to mount the cd manually? Maybe its a copyright thing.
Yeah, it might be a copyright thing. That's one of the reasons why I moved on from FC3 because I was trying to listen through XMMS an archived sound byte or rather a radio webcast and it wouldn't let because of some new copyright policies that they had implemented.
But then again, it may just be that you need to manually mount the CD first as suggested by iamroot.
