Solaris Query

This is a discussion about Solaris Query in the Everything Linux category; I know this is a linux forum but perhaps someone here will know the answer. I need to FTP several directories from one Solaris server to another. Is there anyway to copy entire directories and their content via an FTP session ?.

As far as I know, the standard ftp client can't do this.
For remote copy of directories you should use rcp or scp, if you can't/don't want to, the only alternative is to tar the directory up before the transfer.

Cheers
