Samba - Multiple Workgroups

This is a discussion about Samba - Multiple Workgroups in the Linux Networking category; I use Sco Openserver with VisionFS for one of my servers at work and this has the ability to make the server appear in every workgroup on the network. This is great for odd shared files that users want to browse, as it means the server is always in your workgroup.

What I would love to know is can you configure Samba to do something similar?

Thanks

Yep... Remote announce as long as you have various sub-net, is what the big deal is. As we all know NetBIOS is not routable.

For your best bet, I'd install and run swat (Samba Web Admin Tool), it'll allow you to do your worst using the advanced. options.

It has COMPLETE documentation with it... and it just plain works.

Hey thanks, I just checked that out in my Samba book and looks just what I need. I had tried looking for everything in there to do that. Much easier when you know what to look for in the index!
