My choices have reduced to 1) Compaq Presario 2500 Series Notebook 2) HPZE537US I want to know if RedHat Linux 8. 0 or 9. 0 is compatible on these machines.

buon giorno,

Very soon I planning to buy a laptop. My choices have reduced to
1) Compaq Presario 2500 Series Notebook
2) HPZE537US

I want to know if RedHat Linux 8.0 or 9.0 is compatible on these machines. This is an only if condition i.e only if Linux runs on them am going to buy one.

Any help in this matter is appreciated.

Bought the Compaq Presario 2500. Tried to install Red Hat 9.0 ... did it!

However, there are still somethings I couldn't configurate as I'd like to, but I've managed some of the problems I stood up against and I'm on my way to the others!

PS: Beware of the Firewire port...
