Problem with X11 and transparency
This is a discussion about Problem with X11 and transparency in the Everything Linux category; I'm running clark connect 2. 0 (A minimal red-hat gateway dist) on an old pentium. I shoved X 4. 3. 0, opera and rdesktop on it to use it as a thinnish client. Unfortunatly for some reason when I start X the background is either red bars if it's in 16 bit colour, or green bars for 24bit.

I'm using blackbox with a Matrox Millenium. Seems to happen in either the mga driver or the vesa driver. Can someone help me get back the nice default non-show-through black and white X background?
