Problem with DMA/RH8/Custom Kernel
This is a discussion about Problem with DMA/RH8/Custom Kernel in the Linux Hardware category; First, excuse me for my bad english. Second, I've RH 8 with custom kernel (re-compile) and I add the line options ide-cd dma=1 in modules. conf When I start with default kernel, I can put on CDROM's DMA, but when I start with custom kernel, I can't put on this option.

When I start with default kernel, I can put on CDROM's DMA, but when I start with custom kernel, I can't put on this option.
I think that I 've a good kernel configuration. Can anybody help me??

I have the same problem. I notice when mine is booting it complains about some kind of IRQ resource collision when the ide chipset driver is loaded even after disabling everything else on my motherboard. I am using an Asus P4PE btw. Guess we're forced to stick with stock kernels for the time being.
