Parted - no party

This is a discussion about Parted - no party in the Linux Software category; Has any of you succeeded with parted? I need to move an ext2 partition in order to free some space in the beginning of disk, Parted keeps giving me an error message: Strange disk layout,. . . not supported (yet).
