hello all, i am new to linux, i just got done installing
fedora core 2, i have a nforce chipset for sound and i installed the driver from the nvidia website and havent loaded it yet because
i think that alsa supports the nforce chipsets.
but i get no sound can anyone help here is some info

i already checked the levesl in the volume control and they are all on high and the lock checbox is checked.

Haha. Got that problem as well. Check your KMix options and raise the 1,2,3,and 6,7,8 bars. Nothing wrong with ur hardware i think.

thanks, i dont have kde installed, and i dont have kmix do you know any other options i need to turn on.

When you run music or games, do you get an error message or does everything play as per normal but no sound comes out of the speakers?

yeah everything runs fine, i can detect my nforce chip and everything i just dont hear any sound i just tried alsactl restore
and that didnt do anything, i dont know anywhere else to try

i installed the nforce drivers to and they dont work either

the sound card work because i played sound before.
