Need Help, on Loading Video driver for my Linux 8 m/c.
This is a discussion about Need Help, on Loading Video driver for my Linux 8 m/c. in the Everything Linux category; I loaded Linux 8, on a pentium 133 Mhz Gate way m/c. I get charecter interface. No GUI. start x fails. How do I know the type of video card and also the drver for that to get my desk top working. I thank in adv for help.

You haven't given us and awful lot to go on, is there anything else you can tell us about the machine, like a Gateway model number? Until we find out exactly what type of video card is in the machine we can't really advise you on how to proceed in getting it working under Linux.
