need applications off of cd
This is a discussion about need applications off of cd in the Everything Linux category; I installed mandrake linux9. 2 on to my system with some application. i relized i wanted some more applications on my system by using the cd is this possible. .

Of course! Go to the ¨K¨ menu at the bottom left, click on it, then go to configuration > packaging > Install Software
This will prompt you for your root password. Enter it and you will get the RPMdrake window. Type in the name of the package that you want under find, press search and checkmark the package, then click install on the lower right of the screen.

xmms (music program, quite good)
screem (for web authoring)
the games (ahaha, get tux racer its fun some of the others rock too)
