Mini PCI real modem?

This is a discussion about Mini PCI real modem? in the Linux Hardware category; I just found out this afternoon that the 3Com Mini PCI modem on my Thinkpad A21e can be replaced. I would certainly like to replace this winmodem with a real modem that works with Xandros Linux Can anyone recommend a Mini PCI modem which will work with linux? Or are they all winmodems?.

I'm replying to my own post here because I have been told that virtually all mini-pci modems on laptops are winmodems.
