Mandrake 6 can't detect my floppy drive

This is a discussion about Mandrake 6 can't detect my floppy drive in the Everything Linux category; i boot mandrake from the cd and everything goes well until the end of the installation when i want to use a floppy to boot to Mandrake instead of using LILO. the problem is that Mandrake can't detect my floppy: it tries to write data to the floppy drive but nothing happens.

Are you able to read/write to the floppy from other operating systems? Does the floppy led stay lit? Have you tried replacing the cable? Just some general thoughts. Let me know how you make out.

Definately strange... And you're trying to install Mandrake 6? If I might ask, do you need that older version?
